Towards visual-bandwidth: Getting close to one's experiment data

چکیده

This paper presents a novel general purpose visualisation environment SPOD (Space Odyssey), that has evolved in relation to our research needs involving analysis and measurement of chaos and complexity in time-series data. More specifically our attention has turned to deriving sleep state information from EEG/EOG. SPOD operates largely as an interpreter of formated data files, to display surfaces, static and/or animated line and point graphs, individually or simultaneously in a virtual 3-D viewing space. It comfortably handles surfaces of more than 100,000 vertexes, and combinations of more than 15,000 static and/or animated graphs. User controls allow dynamic changes to viewing angle, lighting and display parameters. SPOD is ideally suited to ‘scoping’ experiment data and results, for visually debugging complex processing algorithms, or simply providing visual insight into complex data sets.

Others' Actions Reduce Crossmodal Integration in Peripersonal Space

Specific mechanisms integrate visual-tactile information close to the body to guide voluntary action [1, 2] and to enable rapid self-defense in peripersonal space [3-5]. In social interactions, others frequently act in one's peripersonal space, thereby changing the relevance of near-body events for one's own actions. Such changes of stimulus relevance may thus affect visual-tactile integration....

Using Resource Adaptive Routing Scheme

With the increasing demand for high data transfer rate, the communication is getting new developments. For progressive data transfer at high data rate services, the means of communication has now taken high offering bandwidth architecture such as optical networks. In optical networks the mode of communication is completely an optical medium and data are transferred from various nodes to reach t...

Rethinking Distributed Query Execution on High-Speed Networks

In modern high-speed RDMA-capable networks, the bandwidth to transfer data across machines is getting close to the bandwidth of the local memory bus. Recent work has started to investigate how to redesign individual distributed query operators to best leverage RDMA. However, all these novel RDMA-based query operators are still designed for a classical shared-nothing architecture that relies on ...

Human kin recognition is self- rather than family-referential.

Inclusive fitness theory predicts that organisms will tend to help close kin more than less related individuals. In a variety of birds and mammals, relatives are recognized by comparing their phenotype to an internal representation or template, which might be learned through either repeated exposure to family members or self-inspection. Mirrors are ubiquitous now, but were absent during our evo...

Designing Microstrip Bandpass Filter at 3.2 GHz

Abstract: Bandpass filters play a significant role in wireless communication systems. Transmitted and received signals have to be filtered at a certain center frequency with a specific bandwidth. In designing of microstrip filters, the first step is to carry out an approximated calculation based on using of concentrated components like inductors and capacitors. After getting the specifications ...
